Maroush

With 11 restaurants in London, Itchy suspected that Maroush might be the MacDonalds of the Lebanese food world. However, when taken by an Arab relative, we were assured that despite the décor – which is Aladdin's cave opulence to theme park extremes, and some rather embarrassing belly dancing – the food is apparently very authentic. It was certainly intensely flavoursome, with parcels of meats wrapped in vine leaves, slow roasted lamb specials and their famous shawarama.
