'You want long layers, yes?' It was more of a command than a question and almost the only thing this diminutive Chinese hairdresser said to us when we walked in on a whim. When it comes to wham, bham, please-don't-scalp-me ma'am, this lot could teach the he-shes of Soho a thing or two about transformations. The handling was vigorous, the service was brusque but good-natured, the speed and lack of communication was nerve-wracking but actually it turned out very nicely.
