Lamb & Flag
Itchy aren't the only ones to love this pokey, traditional pub. It's a welcome relief to the faceless chains and soulless bars in the area, but don't expect it to be London's best kept secret. As the 'oldest pub in Covent Garden' it attracts as many tourists as people wanting to escape them. Grab a barstool if you can, enjoy some real ale and mention how 'Charles Dickens drank here' to the Dutch people next to you. Then try telling them Shakespeare and Henry VIII did too.
