Govindas

Run by the Hare Krishnas who worship at the temple next door, this is the sort of friendly, welcoming canteen you'd hope to find in heaven. The menu's veggie and largely Indian, with takeaway prices to rival a Pret sandwich. If eating in, the mouth-watering and authentic thalis (literally: 'plate') take some beating, but if your tongue's feeling a bit western there's also lasagne and veggie burgers. Booze isn't an option, so make the incredible deserts your vice for the night. Best of all, there's zero percent chance the staff will spit in your food.
