Always on the lookout for a freebie, there are tons of places you can be a 'model' for trainee hairdressers, but you have to be careful. Pick the wrong hairsnippers, and you'll end up with a hairdo that looks like it was modelled on a pot plant. The least likely place to give you the Alfalfa-look is the Toni and Guy academy. You may risk something terrifyingly trendy and asymmetrical, but at least you know the cut will be quality and the head massage deliciously thorough. Don't go in and ask for a 'Rachel' or a Beckham Mohawk or you may never get the lip-gloss infused spittle out of your eye.
