The problem with Camden is that it's just that bit too potent. There's a touch too much of the same up there, but in smaller doses, shabby Victorian boozers blaring the Pixies go down a treat. And if there's one 'hood desperately in need of a splash of Camden, it's style-bar-lined Islington. The basement hosts live hits and misses of rock hopefuls, and the capacious games room upstairs provides refuge from those misses. Foodwise, it serves up decent pub grub from noon until four. After that it's strictly peanuts and crisps to wash down your pints of IPA.
