The Cricketers

Has its very own cricket team which plays right on the doorstep. Saturday afternoons often see sweaty men in whites brushing past the footy crowd to use the loo (which could do with a spruce-up). The walls host black and white portraits of the original team, rubbing shoulders with a couple of Dali prints – an odd mix, but it works. A jumble of slouchy sofas, high back chairs, church pews and posture-busting stools ooze old British pub. But the pièce de resistance has to be the line-up of six-or-so Pimms bottles on optics.
