Seedy and tired basement craphole to some, cracking old-school live music joint to others – whatever you make of Kavanagh's, the locals seem to revel in its smoky depths. We'd probably recommend you don't eat here, since the fish and chips we had were quite possibly the worst we've ever tasted, but for necking a few pints, catching a good gig and watching the live sport on a huge screen, it does the job just fine. It's an easygoing sort of a place, and makes a good meeting point for a night with a few mates.
