Candid Arts Café

Tucked away behind Islington High Street and above the Candid Arts Gallery, this is the definition of a 'find'. About as far from Costa Coffee as you can get in a café, Candid Arts is shabby chic at its best, with worn old armchairs, a massive communal dining table, dripping candles, and shelves of board game compendiums. Be warned, though - a 'friendly' game of Snakes & Ladders can rumble the foundations of even the most solid friendship. But who needs friends when winning's at stake?
