Roussillon
French cooking's usually a pretty veg-free zone, but Roussillon is deliciously different. There are two seven-course tasting menus, one meaty, one meat-free. There are lots of veggie dishes that you can mix and match as starters or mains if you can't face seven plates of food in one go, and even the meat dishes are matched with well-cooked vegetable sides. As hushed and plush as you could wish for and with a fantastic wine list, this could be just the place if you want to treat someone special who tends towards the right-on but still enjoys a glass of Château la Nerthe.
