Hudson Grill

On a cold winter's night, Itchy was led downstairs to a roaring open fire, which is a cracking start to any evening. The rest of the décor is pretty much minimalist chic, but the welcome sure is warm. The menu is solid, with a what seems to be a Californian influence, leaning towards dishes like chardonnay risotto and west–coast calamari. Itchy plumped for the 16–spice chicken – count 'em – and was beaming with glee. Come Sunday, the Hudson gives itself over to the ultimate New York institution – brunch – becoming a hub for eggs benedict and bloody marys, or lazy afternoons spent reading the papers. If you're after a spot of the Notting Hill lifestyle without the boho megabucks nonsense, get thee to the Hudson.
