The Clifton

An open kitchen and café–style seating leave you in little doubt as to the contemporary aspirations of this spacious curry house at the Whitechapel end of Brick Lane. The menu includes South Asian specialties as well as an old favourites section, and an outstanding tiger prawn main will set you back less than a couple of G&T's at the bar a few doors down. For the curry diehard it may be more Korma than Vindaloo, but the thought of an overcooked dish elsewhere along the strip should be enough of a draw, even after the pubs have chucked you out.
