Angelic
Somehow the Angelic manages to be all things to all people. Rock up any night of the week and you'll see what we mean. Early on you'll find toddler strewn mothers downing concoctions from the juice bar while their offspring run riot with a packet of prawn cocktail – brought in from Sainsbury's next door –this place is too gastro for crisps –, later there'll be office types and old boys jostling for pint space at the bar. The food's good, it's airy and light, the vibe's romantic and the wishing well plus piped Billy Connelly/Shakespeare in the loos adds a surreal touch of culture. Steam in there.

Generally I quite like this place, but it can get a bit too rammed, and last time I went there was some funny business with extra drinks going on my card which I thought was a bit disappointing. Mostly good though, and good decor
