E1 The Light

One of London's most architecturally impressive bar/restaurants, The Light was the Electric Light Station of GER in a former life. With outside seating, spot on food, a members lounge and roof terrace and a late licence they're already firmly on the Shoreditch map. The city crowd takes over on Fridays but come Saturday night it's hip young locals all the way. Try the restaurant for a classy modern British menu at shocking prices –that's shockingly good value in case you were wondering –or kick back with a bottle of wine and a dozen oysters. Classy in a down to earth way.
