French House

Still totally idiosyncratic and more than a little cliquey. When we dropped by to ask if we could take a photo for this guide there was a full-on debate and vote between the regulars. It's that kind of place – once you belong you'll never want to leave. For the uninitiated there are a few key points. 1. Don't order a pint – they don't do 'em, it's halves only here. 2. Don't ask why it's called French House – everyone who's anyone knows it was the French Resistance centre in WWII. You might laugh but really, to the clever boho types that hang out around the bar, it's like knowing that Paris Hilton puts out. You just do. Try this place as soon as though, it's really rather special.
