Windmill on the Common

More of a beer-vending machine than a pub, The Windmill's main function is to dish out plastic pints for boozers on the common. You'll find a deserted interior, huge bar queues and a floor soaked in drunken spillage. Come winter, things are a lot more sedate but there's little to pull in the crowds. It's too big and soulless for a cosy night on the lagers and too bland for a big group session. Still, come summer all is forgiven.
