Fishworks
Although it's a nationwide chain, Fishworks has a very local feel to it, and the heaps of fresh fish in the window almost make us forget that we're a good forty-minute car ride from the sea. It's hard to resist filling up on the appetizer: doorstopper sized slabs of bread, served with olive oil and garlic mayo, but hold out for the good stuff. The shellfish platter on the next table looked like more of a sculpture than a meal, and it was only when the bill came that we remembered why we don't treat ourselves to food like this every day.
