Jane Austen Centre
Although Jane didn't actually spend as much time in Bath as some people think – having pretty much hated the place – she did stay in a range of houses in the city. As well as the odd picture of Mr Darcy (met by a sigh from the ladies), there is a display of period dresses and extracts from Miss Austen's original letters. Visiting this quaint little museum is a nice, touristy activity for a rainy day; but don't reckon on taking more than about an hour to see it all, or you may find yourself as bored of the museum as Jane became of Bath.
