Bath

Stonehenge

Stone circle, big stone circle, druids, chanting, summer solstice. Quite a drive out of Bath, but you have to visit it really, don't you? The strange thing about Stonehenge is that it's just there, sitting quietly, minding its own business by the side of the A303 in Wiltshire. It's now possible to go back and touch the stones after years of looking at them through a big faraway fence, but watch out for the visitor centre, which is horribly overpriced. Although 'Henge' is a must-see place you could do worse than go visit Avebury stone circle for free, and though the stones aren't as big or impressive as 'Henge', Avebury is the biggest circle in the UK, and it's free.
