King's Arms, The

Another age-old local. Dating back to the 1750's, this ex-coaching inn is a great place to come if you want to lose yourself in a smoky atmosphere and emerge as your favourite pop star. The locals – mainly men who probably haven't moved since the pub was built – are good-humoured and unusually don't stare at you like you're a freak when you walk in – unless you're American, of course. You can also take advantage of the B&B facility if you've sunk too much cider. Live music Saturday and Sunday evenings.
