Late Night Eats

We're not going to lie: when Itchy wakes up, we think about breakfast. Then when we're eating breakfast, we think about lunch. Then when we're eating lunch, we're thinking about dinner. And when we eat dinner, we're thinking about brekkie the next day. And so the vicious cycle continues. And continues. And continues.

We don't eat to live, we legitimately live to eat. And just in case you feel the same way, we've decided to solve two slippery situations we often find ourselves in.

Slippery Sitch One: You want to go out with your mates at night but not to a bar or club.

There are times (so we hear) that people like to go out late at night without the sole purpose of getting pissed. While that's normally not the Itchy way, we'd be willing to give it a go. Want to know how to make eating the main event?

Check out Itchy's faves:

Pasha: You'll feel totally posh dining in this luxurious Morrocan-themed restaurant that conveniently stays open till 23.20.

Mildred's: This veg restaurant is open till 11, so you can get your late night eats in a healthy fashion.

Patara: It may be a chain, but this Thai-styled restaurant serves up creatively presented, fantastic food until 10.30 in super-swanky décor, minus the haughty pretension.

Slippery Sitch Two: You're about to collapse from hunger 'cause you've been drinking...

We're hoping that the above spots might persuade you to forgo the sketchy gristle-fest at 3am, but if you find that you simply cannot survive without your grimy grub, here's some slightly higher-class establishments.

Brick Lane Beigel Bake is a magical place, in that it is open 24 hours and is ridiculously cheap.

Milkshakes, burgers, and, er, pseudo Chinese stir-fry? All hail the 24-hour American-styled diner that is Tinseltown.

Don't forget to check out local bars, too; many bars/clubs serve food fairly late. You just don't notice because you're too busy drinking.

So forge on, late night eaters. The night is full of delicious hole-in-the-walls or fancy establishments for you to discover. You just have to know where to look.
