There are those moments in life when a certain set of circumstances lead you down a certain street at a certain time

This was Saturday...

Slightly disgruntled at being ushered out of a coffee shop in Camden just moments after ordering, Itchy found itself aimlessly wandering home, cold beverage in hand...

In the distance, on the cross roads of Camden High Street we heard some faint beats and some pretty awesome sounds. The cynic inside says not another Camden hopeful trying to rise out of the gutter (or sell us something)... but like a fly drawn to the light we were addicted to what we heard and pushed our way to the front of what was a growing to be quite a large circle of people.

Before us crouched dub_fx, an Australian beat-boxer cross all-round awesome vocalist who uses fx pedals to loop, mix, chop, phase and shift his voice over samples of previously recorded backing basslines.

In his words he's a 'schizophrenic gemini beat-boxer performing live in the street with a loop-station and an effex unit...'

His set, which was around three hours long was far beyond your average beat-boxer. It was uplifting, melodic and addictive without being cheesy or unoriginal. His lyrics and flawless vocals saw the people inside the pub putting down their pints to instead gorp at his performance through the misty glass.

It was a set of circumstances we were glad to have experienced as we ditched our coffee and purchased his CD. We've been checking him out ever since online in the following places...
