Late night drinking in Bath

‘Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find all those places in the city with extended opening hours…’

Come on mate, this is Bath we’re talking about, not London. It can’t be done. Everyone in Bath is tucked up in bed before midnight. Undetered we unearthed a few drinking holes and muncheries that serve til late. Mission impossible completed.

Drinking
It’ll cost you a couple of quid to get in if you arrive after 11, but you can grab a pint after hours at Savilles, The Huntsman and The Bath Tap they all stay open until 2am. Alternatively you could try The Fez Club which has a chill out area complete with pool table away from the music.

Just come out of the pub
There’s nothing like a bag of greasy chips to soak up that alcohol. Check out Mr D. They serve until 1am during the week and a mind-blowing 3am on Fridays and Saturdays. Way to go Mr D. Kebabs after closing? Try the Kebab House in Kingmead Square open until 12.30am weekdays and 1am at weekends.

Restaurants
You’ve pulled. She wants champagne and candlelight. You need a proper meal to keep your stamina up. Grab a table at The Wife of Bath, Woods, Tilleys, Pasta Galore, Hullabaloos or Pasta Express… but you’d better hurry; last orders are 11pm. Didn’t make it? Then dash along to Peking or Shangri La; they serve until 11.15, or make your way to Chopstick, Browns, Jamuna, Xian or Las Iguanas who keep serving until 11.30 or 12. After midnight you have a choice of Indian cuisine…or Indian cuisine: Rajpoot is open until 1.30am weekdays and 2am at the weekend.

Cafés
Teetotal? Really? Do you have any vices at all? The trouble with people with no vices is that you can be reasonably sure they are going to have some pretty annoying virtues. Oh, you do have vices, but you just fancy a cuppa. Fair enough. ‘Fraid your only option is Binks by the Abbey. It’s open ‘til 11.
